AB 2819 (Chiu) will permanently mask all Unlawful Detainer (UD) actions, unless the rental property owner obtains a judgment in court within 60-days. The bill unfairly places ALL costs, burdens and responsibilities for ensuring public notice of tenant defaults on property owners.
David Chiu post: AB 2819 passed off the Assembly floor yesterday and now heads to the Senate. Our bill will help innocent tenants facing evictions from being placed on a tenant blacklist that would jeopardize their credit and severely impact their chances of finding new housing.
